Photos: Eastlake beats Bothell in rain-soaked affair to win first league title since 2001

SAMMAMISH, Wash. — It rained, it poured and the host Eastlake Wolves beat Bothell 21-3 to claim its first KingCo championship since 2001 through torrential downpour on Thursday night at Eastlake High School.

The matchup pitted the two top 4A KingCo teams against one another for the No. 1 seed in what has been among the state’s toughest leagues in recent memory. Both teams will advance to the Week 10 round of 32.

The Wolves (9-0), No. 6 in SBLive’s Class 4A top 10 power rankings, hand the Cougars (8-1) their first loss of the season. Eastlake is helmed by first-year coach Kyle Snell, who served as offensive coordinator under Don Bartel, who stepped down in March.
