Andrew Butler’s fourth quarter snag and 71-yard touchdown haul helped lift Auburn Riverside to a landmark win over rival Auburn Mountainview.
It was also voted by fans as the top play from Week 7 of the high school football season in Washington.
Butler received 46.5 percent of the votes — 6,044 votes — to narrowly finish first and edge out Bellevue’s Ishaan Daniels, whose 74-yard touchdown run wasn’t far behind, receiving 45.8 percent of the votes (5,959).
“I talked to the guys the entire game about, just stay ready for your moment,” second-year Auburn Riverside coach Greg Herd told SBLive after the Ravens’ 28-21 win, securing a 4A/3A NPSL title. “(Butler) stayed ready for his moment.”
