LA CENTER, Wash. — Blain Hanly ran for two touchdowns and made a momentum-crushing interception at the end of the third quarter to help No. 2 Eatonville pull away from No. 8 La Center 35-13 on Friday night at La Center High School.
The Cruisers (4-0) moved the ball at will and scored quickly on its first two drives to amass a 14-0 lead. But the Wildcats (2-2) used two drives of more than 10 minutes apiece and 127 total rushing yards from sophomore running back Jalen Ward on 27 carries to hang within eight points until early in the fourth quarter.
Hanly’s pick stopped the Wildcats in the red zone on a more than 12-minute drive and the Cruisers punched two more touchdowns in to pull away.
