CLASS 2A PRESEASON TOP 10

1. Tumwater

2019 record: 14-0

Scary to think the Thunderbirds, who ran through the classification last year, are even better now.

2. Steilacoom

2019 record: 11-3

Even without Ohio State-bound WR Emeka Egbuka, this passing offense will be in high gear all season.

3. Lynden

2019 record: 9-3

With no workhorse running back in the fold anymore, the Lions will likely run burly QB Baylor Ayers – a lot.

4. Prosser

2019 record: 8-3

Expect a whole different level of airing it out with QB Kaiden Rivera a year older, and WR Haden Hicks “unretired”.

5. Archbishop Murphy

2019 record: 8-3

Virginia DE/TE signee Josh McCarron is a two-way wrecking ball, but a three-man quarterback battle looms.

6. Enumclaw

2019 record: 7-3 (4A)

Big hogs gone wild? Hornets have best pre-game linemen introduction in state – and run behind them at will.

7. Squalicum

2019 record: 8-3 (3A)

About middle of 2019 season, touted RB Ben Schlenbaker finally figured out how to run with patience. Watch out.

8. Lakewood

2019 record: 9-2

Looking for next statewide breakout candidate? Take notice of DE Jakobus Seth and his menacing burst.

9. Hockinson

2019 record: 11-2

Two-time 2A champs (2017, 2018) had quite a run – and will rely on new cast to retrace the climb.

10. North Kitsap

2019 record: 9-3

Arguably the West Sound’s best team, Vikings get last-spot nod because of dual-threat QB Colton Bower.
