What is the ‘COVID 7s’ football tournament? Hear from the high school students who put it on.

SEATAC — Milton Hopkins Jr. talks about his third self-organized 7-on-7 tournament called “the COVID 7s” and how it’s been fueled by the postponement of high school sports in Washington.

The tournaments are organized and ran by high school football players. Kennedy Catholic wideout Junior Alexander has helped organize teams, and Todd Beamer 4-star tackle Malik Agbo, Federal Way corner Ronald Davis, Kentlake QB Nate Beck, O’Dea 4-star OL Owen Prentice and Shorecrest’s Gabe Nelson all pitched in officiating. Teams from more than 20 high schools competed.
