Scorebook Live Today podcast: Analyzing news that the 3A/4A basketball championships will be streamed, not televised. Plus, Auburn’s Ryan Hansen and Battle Ground’s Manny Melo

The 3A/4A Washington high school basketball state championships will not be televised for first time in nearly 40 years, as ROOT Sports informed the WIAA it would not broadcast the event, citing low returns and high production cost.

The games will be streamed on the NFHS Network, a subscription service. What does that mean for the future of watching Washington high school sports? The Scorebook Live Today podcast — Dan Dickau, Andy Buhler and Todd Milles — breaks down details of the story, including some that were not included in the story. Then, Todd previews the top storylines across the state heading into Mat Classic.

Plus, in this week’s Coaches Corner with Dan Dickau, Auburn head basketball coach Ryan Hansen joins (16:45 mark), followed by Battle Ground coach Manny Melo (21:43).
