Eastside Catholic’s offensive legion of football boom saw the final leg of its recruiting journey completed Saturday.
Tight end D.J. Rogers made a decision.
And he chose a different school than his senior teammates.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder is in a much different position than fellow Eastside Catholic standouts Gee Scott Jr. (Ohio State), a wide receiver; running back Sam Adams II (Washington); and defensive back Ayden Hector (Stanford).
Rogers suffered a season-ending knee injury Oct. 25 in the regular-season home finale against Bishop Blanchet, and has surgery to repair ligament damage a week later.
Before the injury, Rogers was the team’s second-leading receiving target behind Scott, and finished his senior season with 33 receptions for 452 yards and six touchdowns.
Early-period signing day begins Wednesday.
