PUYALLUP — After a flurry of lead changes and big plays in the fourth quarter, Eastside Catholic emerged with a 20-12 victory over O’Dea in the WIAA 3A football state championship game Saturday at Sparks Stadium.
Quarterback Kobe Muasau delivered the biggest blow for Eastside Catholic, throwing the game-winning 29-yard TD pass to tight end J.T. Tuimoloau with just over a minute to play. It was the Crusaders’ second consecutive 3A football state title and it avenged a 28-6 loss to O’Dea earlier this season.
