The Tahoma Bears were the top-ranked team in Class 4A Washington high school volleyball for most of the 2019 season — and they showed why on Saturday at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
Tahoma beat Lake Stevens in four highly competitive games — 21-25, 25-21, 25-22, 28-26 — to win the WIAA 4A volleyball state championship.
Chey Jones had a huge game for Tahoma, racking up 24 kills and three blocks. McKenne Peters led the defensive effort with 38 digs.
For Lake Stevens, Samaya Morin shined with 31 digs and 17 kills.
