OUTLOOK

Battle Ground coach Mike Kesler finds strength in numbers.

Though his Tigers are relatively young, and must replace six all-league selections to compete in a team with three playoff-ready teams — Camas, Union and Skyview — he is encouraged by the “bright future” he sees in his underclassmen.

Second team all-league running back Daniel Thompson transferred to Hockinson, but Battle Ground has Steven Hancock, also a standout linebacker, and power back Brody Smith to step in.

Junior Reid Schneider steps under center to run the spread offense manned by offensive coordinator Corey Buckner.
