TOP DEFENSIVE PLAYERS

DB Logan Candanoza 5-10, 175, Sr.

DB Anthony Kernan 5-8, 160, Sr.

LB Case Reinmuth 6-1, 175, Sr.

THREE TO SEE

Will Thompson, wide receiver

Great size, speed and experience. First team all-league offense as a junior and a three-year standout for the Mustangs.

Logan Candanoza, running back/defensive back

Four-year varsity player moves into the featured running back spot. Could have one of the top individual seasons in the league.

Haden Hicks, quarterback

The second team all-league receiver as a sophomore is moving to quarterback, where he can move the pocket with his feet and get to the edge when necessary. Ingvalson expects him to develop more as the season progresses.

OUTLOOK

Prosser was a state playoff team last season and by many accounts, returns as the class of the 2A CWAC.

Despite returning just six starters from last season — and one on the offensive line — the Mustangs sport the playmakers in skill positions to compete with any 2A team across the state. That starts with returning first team all-league receiver Will Thompson whose production will play off of newly-tooled quarterback Haden Hicks. A second team all-league receiver as a junior, Hicks now has the keys to Prosser’s offense. And he will have an offensive line that Ingvalson touts as better than last season.

The Mustangs lost in the first round of the state playoffs last season, and have the talent to go further this season.
