OUTLOOK

Even though the Cruisers made it to the first round of the state playoffs, it was a season that required patience.

Given that he had one of the youngest and least physical offensive lines during his coaching tenure, Kralik had to be creative with schemes — especially when it came to getting the forceful Jumper, the league’s two-time offensive MVP, out in space.

This season, he will take it a step further — besides playing running back and tight end, Jumper will also take snaps at quarterback (as will Smith and ninth grader Kevin Wulff).

Part of the reasoning behind that is that projected starter Kekoa Visperas transferred to Bethel. The other part is that Kralik liked how Lynden rotated quarterbacks in last year’s state playoff matchup — and figures he has the type of unselfish players that can make it happen.
