OUTLOOK

Three years ago, Lake Roosevelt had no real football tradition. That has started to shift after three consecutive trips to the state playoffs.

Can the Raiders take that next step? If you look at all the underclassmen talent they have, this could be an extended stay as a contending team.

QB Hunter Whitelaw takes over the helm, and has big shoes to fill after Eastern Washington-bound Steven Flowers graduated.

But Whitelaw is more of a traditional passer to run coach Rasmussen’s spread offense. He sees the field well, and can make most of the throws. He has been impressive this summer.

Even with just six seniors, the Raiders are aiming for not only a return state trip, but they want to get past the first round.
