THREE TO SEE
Josh Kieffer, offensive lineman
At 245 pounds, he represents the “beef” (and brains) at center
Zane Perleberg, quarterback
Big things expected from him in second season running wishbone
Tyler Sprecher, linebacker
Ability to decipher plays and cover ground makes him all-time great
OUTLOOK
Yes, the Indians lost 10 all-league seniors. But do you want to bet against a program that has been to the state playoffs 10 times in coach Eric Nikkola’s 15 seasons (with a 1B title in 2005)?
Sprecher is their two-way workhorse who eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards last season in the wishbone (and even some out of Wildcat).
The coaches would like to see Perleberg take that next step in his second season as a starter. As a point guard/captain of the basketball team, he has natural leadership skills.
If Reardan can find capable replacements on the line to build around Kieffer, this could be the biggest challenger to Chewelah in a strong league.
