Crescent finished 8-3 overall last season, and 4-0 (tied-first) in the Northwest 1B North League. The Loggers lost to Almira/Coulee/Hartline in the 1B state quarterfinals, 100-16.

Brian Shimko, 5th year at Crescent

Overall record: 25-20

Coordinator: Buzz Lee.

Base schemes: Offense: hybrid (pistol, I-form, spread, wishbone, wildcat); Defense: 4-4.

Offense -5; Defense – 6.

QB/DB Eric Emery, 5-6, 118 , Sr.

RB/OLB/TE Brayden Emery 5-6, 130, Soph.

RB/LB Wyatt Lee 5-1, 115, Soph.

TE/LB/S Brenten Dalton, 6-3, 120 Fr.

QB/DB Eric Emery, 5-6, 118 , Sr.

An experienced leader and playmaker, Emery gives Crescent the ability to do lots of things in the backfield. He can throw, run, block and catch. And he’s the Loggers’ top cover man in the secondary.

RB/OLB/TE Brayden Emery 5-6, 130, Soph.

Runs hard and hits harder. At running back, he’s a playmaker in space and a reliable receiver out of the backfield.

RB/LB Wyatt Lee 5-1, 115, Soph.

Described by coaches as an old school, hard-nosed athlete who works hard, runs fast and hits harder. The son of Crescent assistant coach Buzz Lee, a state championship contending running back at Clallam Bay in 1994.

Crescent’s goal each season is to advance one game farther into the postseason than the previous year. If that goal is applied to 2019, it means the Loggers are hoping to advance as far as the 1B state semifinals. The Loggers will have to do it without graduated running back Noan Leonard, who scored 44 touchdowns and set state records for touchdowns in a game (10) and points in a game (62) last season. But most of Crescent’s core returns, including two who started as freshmen, one as an eighth grader.
