Woodland High School hurdler Tyler Flanagan took to the air to win the Washington Class 2A boys 300-meter hurdles state championship Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School.
Flanagan, a 6-foot senior, was in a dead heat with Black Hills’ Sir Carter as they approached the finish line. Then Flanagan went full Superman, diving across the finish line to win by fractions of a second. Flanagan’s official time was 39.38. Carter’s was 39.42.
