Washington Basketball Legends: Sean Mallon, Ferris High School

ScoreBook Live’s Dan Dickau recently caught up with current Ferris High School head coach and former Ferris player in Spokane where he was All-State in 2002.

HS and Years: Ferris HS, 1998-2002.

College and Pro Experience: Played for Gonzaga from 2003-2008. Played professionally in Germany for one season after.

What is your best high school basketball memory?

Best memory would be making deep runs in the state tournament my junior and senior seasons.

What impact did your high school coach have on you?

My high school coach had a huge impact on me, and he’s part of the reason that I decided to get into coaching myself.

What are you doing now?

Teaching and working as the head coach at my alma mater, Ferris High School.

Who was the best player you played against in high school?

Best player in WA was Brandon Roy and the best players on a national level would be Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire.

What is your favorite gym in the state to play in?

Favorite gym is the old Ferris gym.
