Poteet Pirates beat Newman Smith Trojans 57-47 in Texas high school basketball game

Newman Smith - Poteet's Dj Basey led all scorers with 17 points as the Pirates beat Newman Smith Trojans 57-47 in a game at Newman Smith.

Basey's points came on 8 field goals and 1 of 4 free throws during the game.

Aj Bar Jona added 10. while Poteet improved their record to 7-3.

Poteet will host West Mesquite on Friday Jan. 4 at 5:00pm.
