San Antonio Southwest RB Jake Friesenhahn voted SBLive’s Texas High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to San Antonio Southwest running back Jake Friesenhahn for being voted SBLive’s Texas High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-14!

The senior ran for 284 yards and three rushing scores on 32 carries in Southwest’s 27-12 win against San Antonio Kennedy.

Friesenhahn received 45.33% of the vote, beating out Garland WR Ellis Rogers who finished second with 39.58%. Cibolo Steele WR Edmarrion Contreras finished third with 7.74% and Columbia West Columbia RB Jourdan Concepcion finished fourth with 2.53%. There were over 96,000 votes tallied this week!

PASSING STARS

Braedyn Locke, Rockwall QB

Locke became the all-time leader in career touchdown passes in Class 6A Texas high school football history after throwing for 283 yards and five touchdowns on 14-of-18 passing in a 55-14 win against North Garland. He also ran 15 times for 165 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Kyle Guerrero, Ganado QB

In Thursday’s game against Ozona, Guerrero was 22-of-28 passing for 374 yards and seven touchdown throws and also ran for 91 yards and two rushing TDs on seven carries in a 68-18 win.

Cale Hellums, Tomball QB

Hellums threw for 137 yards and two TDs on 4-of-7 passing and also ran for 253 yards and two rushing scores on 15 carries in a 52-29 upset win over Cypress Park.

Matt Allen, DeSoto QB

Allen threw for 209 yards and four touchdowns on 19-of-27 passing in a 65-28 win against Killeen Harker Heights.

Cardell Williams, Spring Westfield QB

Williams threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns on 8-of-13 passing in a 55-21 win against Conroe. He also ran 11 times for 135 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Rashawn Galloway, Boerne QB

Thursday’s game against Canyon Lake saw Galloway complete 16 of 29 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown in a 28-21 victory. He also ran for 107 yards and three rushing TDs on 16 carries to account for all of Boerne’s touchdowns.

Bert Emmanuel Jr, Fort Bend Ridge Point QB

In Thursday’s game against Katy Seven Lakes, Emmanuel went 11-of-15 passing for 199 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-7 win. He also ran 12 times for 76 yards and a rushing score.

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, Aledo QB

In Thursday’s game against Dallas Hillcrest, Fowler-Nicolosi was 9-of-11 passing for 230 yards and three touchdowns in a 77-0 win.

Bishop Davenport, Spring QB

Davenport completed 15 of 25 passes for 353 yards and three TDs in a 52-35 win over The Woodlands on Friday. He also ran for 95 yards on 17 carries.

Cody Kuhlmann, League City Clear Springs QB

Kuhlmann went 18-of-30 for 256 yards and five passing TDs to help Clear Springs rally for a 42-35 victory over Pearland on Friday. He also ran four times for 11 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Ashton Dubose, San Antonio Brennan QB

Dubose was 18-of-21 passing for 327 yards and five TDs in a 55-20 win over Laredo United. He also ran for 14 yards and a rushing score on three carries.

Jett Huff, College Station QB

In Friday’s game against McKinney North, Huff was 16-of-21 passing for 238 yards and five passing touchdowns in a 49-10 blowout win.

Brock Bolfing, Montgomery QB

Bolfing threw for 243 yards and four TDs on 15-of-23 passing in a 35-21 win over Nacogdoches to help Montgomery stay unbeaten.

Josh Hoover, Rockwall Heath QB

Hoover completed 24 of 33 pass attempts for 346 yards and four touchdown throws in a 35-6 victory against Garland Naaman Forest.

Alexander Franklin, Lucas Lovejoy QB

Franklin was 15-of-22 passing for 250 yards and four touchdown throws in a 77-27 win over Crandall.

Darson Herman, Georgetown QB

Herman threw for 327 yards and three TDs on 20-of-32 passing and ran for 167 yards and six rushing touchdowns in Georgetown’s 63-56 shootout victory against previously undefeated Dripping Springs.

Cade Klubnik, Austin Westlake QB

Klubnik threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-25 passing and added 75 yards and a rushing touchdown on five carries in a 54-9 win over Hutto.

Dylan Raiola, Burleson QB

Raiola went 15-of-20 for 454 yards and seven passing TDs in Burleson’s 70-48 win over Mesquite Poteet on Friday. He also ran twice for 9 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Ace Seibert, Rockport-Fulton QB

Seibert threw for 265 yards and five touchdowns on 8-of-12 passing in a 60-17 win over Hondo.

Carson Roper, Klein Cain QB

Roper threw for 140 yards on 11-of-13 passing and also ran for 123 yards and three rushing TDs on 11 carries in Cain’s 52-20 win against Cypress Woods.

Preston Hatter, Klein Oak QB

Hatter completed 15 of 20 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown in a 49-35 victory against Cypress Ranch. He also ran for 220 yards and four rushing TDs on 31 carries.

Zion Brown, Humble Atascocita QB

Brown began the postseason with the biggest game of his career by throwing for 304 yards and five touchdowns on 20-of-28 passing in Atascocita’s 52-13 win over Deer Park. He also ran four times for 99 yards and a rushing score.

Keldric Luster, Frisco Liberty QB

Luster threw for 242 yards on 19-of-23 passing and also ran for 159 yards and a pair of rushing TDs on 15 carries in Liberty’s 45-21 victory over Forney.

RUSHING STARS

Max Alaniz-Choy, McAllen Memorial RB

Alaniz-Choy carried the ball 23 times for 290 yards and five rushing touchdowns in Memorial’s 50-28 win over Victoria West.

Makhilyn Young, Midland Legacy RB

Young ran 18 times for 229 yards and three rushing TDs on 19 carries in Midland Legacy’s 43-22 win against El Paso Pebble Hills.

Damyrion Phillips, Katy Paetow RB

Phillips rushed for 168 yards and three TDs on 13 carries in Paetow’s 70-3 win over Galveston Ball on Thursday.

Ashton Jeanty, Frisco Lone Star RB

Jeanty toted the ball nine times for 130 yards and two rushing TDs and caught two receptions for 42 yards in Lone Star’s 74-6 victory over Dallas Adams.

Wyatt Young, Katy Tompkins RB

In a 49-21 victory against Fort Bend Travis, Young rushed nine times for 97 yards and four touchdowns in addition to catching five passes for 57 receiving yards. 

Rylan Galvan, Sinton RB

Galvan ran for 284 yards and six first-half rushing TDs on 19 carries in Sinton’s 68-14 win against Bandera on Friday.

Xavier Owens, Galena Park North Shore RB

Owens rushed seven times for 131 yards and three rushing TDs in North Shore’s 62-14 win over Pasadena Dobie on Thursday.

Ezra Carter, Fort Worth Boswell RB

Carter toted the ball 38 times for 158 yards and two touchdowns in Boswell’s 40-37 victory over Northwest Eaton.

Eric Eckstrom, Katy Cinco Ranch RB

Eckstrom rushed for 95 yards and three TDs on 25 carries in a 44-0 win against Fort Bend Bush. He also caught three passes for 74 receiving yards.

Keundrae Hollywood, South Oak Cliff RB

Hollywood rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in a 49-28 victory against Everman.

James Gatson, Melissa RB

Gatson ran the ball five times for 184 yards and two touchdowns in Melissa’s 73-20 win over North Dallas.

Rashon Estes, Jersey Village RB

Estes ran 15 times for 138 yards and three TDs in a 56-23 win against Houston Westside on Friday night to help Jersey Village remain undefeated.

Reuben Owens, El Campo RB

Owens carried the ball 11 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns in just the first half of El Campo’s 63-18 win over Houston Yates.

Ollie Gordon, Euless Trinity RB

Gordon ran for 195 yards and four rushing scores on 24 carries in Trinity’s 47-21 win over Keller. He also hauled in a pair of receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown through the air.

Devyn D. Turner, Allen RB

Turner rushed 11 times for 211 yards and four touchdowns on the ground in Allen’s 59-30 victory against Carrollton Hebron.

Owen Allen, Southlake Carroll RB

Allen tallied 129 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 28 carries and snagged a 13-yard reception in Carroll’s 42-20 win over North Crowley on Friday night.

Travis McCracken, Smithson Valley RB

McCracken rushed 13 times for 95 yards and three of his team’s four rushing TDs in a 35-25 victory at home against San Antonio Madison.

Teshaun Singleton, Cibolo Steele RB

In a 42-14 victory against San Antonio Brandeis to help Steele stay undefeated, Singleton ran 10 times for 118 yards and three rushing TDs and caught two passes for 16 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Noah Long, Liberty Hill RB

Long ran for 191 yards and four rushing TDs on 20 carries in Liberty Hill’s 57-7 win against Bastrop.

Jerrell Wimbley, Houston C.E. King RB

Wimbley carried the ball 10 times for 136 yards and three rushing touchdowns and caught a 20-yard pass in King’s 56-13 win over South Houston.

Lloyd Avant, Humble Summer Creek RB

Avant ran 22 times for 213 yards and five rushing TDs in a 55-28 win against Channelview on Friday night. He also hauled in a 20-yard touchdown reception.

Jourdan Concepcion, Columbia West Columbia RB

Concepcion ran for 200 yards and two rushing scores on 21 carries in a 65-18 win over Houston North Forest.

David Smith, League City Clear Falls RB

Smith toted the ball 23 times for 157 yards and three rushing TDs in a 35-31 loss to Pearland Dawson.

Robert Fitzgerald, Dallas Jesuit RB/FS

Fitzgerald ran for 170 yards and five touchdowns on 19 carries and also caught a 12-yard pass in Jesuit’s 69-36 victory over Arlington on Friday.

Savion Red, Grand Prairie QB

Red ran for 232 yards and three rushing TDs on 22 carries and also threw for 66 yards and a touchdown on 6-of-15 passing in a 29-22 win over Richardson Berkner.

Orlando Scales, Mansfield Summit RB

Scales rushed 17 times for 217 yards and two rushing TDs in Mansfield Summit’s 38-14 win over Azle on Friday.

Ryker Purdy, New Braunfels RB

Purdy ran for 130 yards and four rushing scores on 23 carries and caught two passes for 10 yards in a 51-45 win over previously unbeaten San Antonio Johnson on Friday.

Jared White, Frisco Wakeland RB

White rushed for 248 yards and three TDs on 30 carries in Wakeland’s 38-7 win against Dallas Wilson.

Jeremiah Robinson, Eagle Pass Winn RB

Robinson ran for 157 yards and two rushing scores on 32 carries in Winn’s 20-14 win against San Antonio Highlands.

Samari Howard, Temple RB

Howard ran 27 times for 229 yards and two rushing scores and caught a 37-yard pass in Temple’s 28-14 win against Waxahachie.

RECEIVING STARS

Jaquan Richardson, Odessa Permian WR/RB

Richardson caught three passes for 173 yards and three receiving TDs in a 46-28 victory over El Paso Franklin. He also ran five times for 23 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Caden Marshall, Rockwall WR

Marshall caught eight passes for 149 yards and two TDs in a 55-14 win over North Garland on Thursday.

Riley Hurt, Ganado WR

Hurt snagged eight receptions for 128 yards and four touchdowns in a 68-18 win over Ozona.

Jamel Hardy, Lincoln WR

Gordon recorded six receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-29 loss to Paris on Thursday.

Jace Wilson, Bishop WR

Wilson caught five passes for 208 receiving yards and all three of his team’s touchdowns in a 67-21 loss to Edna.

Cadyn Bradley, Spring WR

Bradley tallied six catches for 224 yards and three receiving TDs in a 52-35 victory against The Woodlands.

 AJ Newberry, South Grand Prairie WR

Newberry caught four receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-24 loss to Richardson Lake Highlands.

Takoda Bridges, Carrollton Hebron WR

Bridges hauled in nine passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in a 59-30 defeat against Allen.

Noah Thomas, League City Clear Springs WR

Thomas caught 11 passes for 204 yards and four receiving TDs in a 42-35 comeback victory over Pearland on Friday.

Edmarrion Contreras, Cibolo Steele WR

Contreras caught nine passes for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 42-14 win against San Antonio Brandeis.

Jamarion Woods, Mesquite WR

Woods tallied seven receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-19 win over Sachse.

Luke Rives, Houston Stratford WR

Rives caught five passes for 223 yards and three receiving touchdowns, both season highs, in Stratford’s 57-0 win against Houston Westbury.

Ryan Guillo, Pearland Dawson WR

Guillo snagged 10 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-31 win over League City Clear Falls.

Lemonds hauled in nine catches for 215 yards and two receiving TDs in a 69-36 loss to Dallas Jesuit.

Caleb Burton, Lake Travis WR

Burton caught six passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-7 win over Round Rock Cedar Ridge.

Curtis Murillo, El Paso Eastwood WR
