Montgomery RB Jalen Washington voted best running back in 5A Texas high school football

After releasing SBLive’s 5A running back rankings, we asked Texas high school football fans to vote for the best 5A running back in the state.

The winner?

Montgomery RB Jalen Washington.

Washington received 31.7% of the 36,672 votes. Canutillo RB LJ Martin finished second with 25.4% and McAllen Memorial RB Ethan Castillo finished third with 21%.

Washington has had some big-time performances this season, including 33 carries for 248 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-28 win over A&M Consolidated on Oct. 15.
