West Columbia RB Jordan Woodard voted SBLive’s Texas High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to West Columbia running back Jordan Woodard for being voted SBLive’s Texas High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 4-10!

The senior carried the ball 21 times for 193 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-35 win over Needville.

Woodard received 30.47% of the vote, beating out Odessa Permian QB Rodney Hall who finished second with 17.4%. El Paso Chapin QB Mason Standerfer finished third with 15.95% and Cypress Bridgeland WR Jonathan Nelson finished fourth with 8.05%. There were over 41,000 votes tallied this week!

Jake Strong, Justin Northwest QB

In Thursday’s game against Saginaw, Strong was 9-of-15 passing for 156 yards and three touchdown throws in a 63-12 win. Strong also ran for 133 yards and three rushing TDs on five carries.

Ricky Reyna, Mission Veterans QB

Reyna threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-14 win against PSJA Southwest on Thursday. He also rushed for 46 yards and three TDs on seven carries.

Brad Jackson, Cypress Creek QB

Jackson threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns on 25-of-34 passing and ran for 60 yards in a 41-21 victory over Cypress Ridge.

Justice Hurt, San Antonio Taft QB

Thursday’s game against San Antonio Brennan saw Hurt go 5-of-17 for 110 yards through the air and add 303 yards and three TDs on the ground on 29 carries in a 42-28 loss.

Cole Francis, Katy Tompkins QB

In Thursday’s game against Katy Taylor, Francis went 14-of-21 for 365 yards with five TDs in a 52-7 win. 

Mason Standerfer, El Paso Chapin QB

In Friday’s game against Clint Horizon, Standerfer was 23-of-42 passing for 439 yards and six touchdown passes, both career highs, in a 56-52 win. Standerfer also ran for 77 yards and two rushing TDs on 10 carries.

Nico Garcia, San Antonio Brandeis QB

Garcia completed 10 of 11 passes for 214 yards and three TDs and ran for 17 yards and a score on three carries in a 72-0 win over San Antonio Lee on Friday.

Jesse Medina, Buda Johnson QB

Medina went 11-of-19 for 203 yards and three passing TDs while adding 111 yards and a rushing touchdown on 23 carries in a 45-28 victory over San Antonio Veterans on Friday.

Nick Evers, Flower Mound QB

Evers was 20-of-40 passing for 328 yards and two TDs and he added 41 yards and a rushing score on 13 carries in a loss to Lewisville.

Harrison Rosar, Prosper QB

In Friday’ game against McKinney, Rosar was 16-of-23 passing for 238 yards and three TD throws in a 31-14 win.

Darson Herman, Georgetown QB

Herman threw for 197 yards and three TDs on 12-of-19 passing and ran for 77 yards and three rushing scores on 10 carries in Georgetown’s dominant 56-9 win over Pflugerville Hendrickson.

Rodney Hall, Odessa Permian QB

Hall completed 13 of 19 pass attempts for 244 yards and two touchdown throws and also ran for 96 yards and a rushing score on 16 carries in Permian’s 48-29 rivalry game victory against Odessa High.

Matt Allen, DeSoto QB

Orji was 11-of-12 passing for 252 yards and four touchdown throws in DeSoto’s 72-6 win over Waco.

Duke Butler, Alvin Shadow Creek QB

Butler threw for 143 yards and four touchdowns on 6-of-15 passing and ran for 74 yards in a 35-20 victory against Houston Strake Jesuit in district play.

David Hopkins, Mansfield Summit QB

Hopkins went 14-of-15 for 229 yards and three TDs in Mansfield Summit’s 40-16 win over Richland. He also ran for 4 yards and a rushing score.

Rashawn Galloway, Boerne QB

Galloway completed 27 of 44 pass attempts for 340 yards and three touchdown throws and also ran for 50 yards on 11 carries in Boerne’s 39-31 overtime victory over Pleasanton.

Jake Wright, Houston St. Thomas QB

Holt threw for 348 yards and three touchdown passes and also ran for a score and 92 yards in a 35-0 district win over West Mesquite.

Cameron Byrd, El Paso Franklin QB

Byrd threw for 291 yards and four TDs on 12-of-20 passing and ran for 50 yards and two rushing scores on 13 carries in Franklin’s 46-22 win over previously undefeated El Paso Eastlake.

Bert Emanuel Jr, Fort Bend Ridge Point QB

Emanuel threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-20 passing in Ridge Point’s 44-0 district win over Fort Bend Dulles.

Ashton Dickens, Lockhart QB

Dickens completed 10 of 24 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 153 yards and five rushing TDs on 18 carries in a 50-43 loss to Kerrville Tivy.

Cash McCollum, Wimberley QB

McCollum went 15-of-17 passing for 213 yards and four TDs in a 77-7 win against San Antonio YMLA. He also ran for 13 yards and a rushing score on two carries.

Josh Pell, Cedar Park QB

Pell tallied 250 yards and five touchdowns through the air on 14-of-19 passing in Cedar Park’s 45-13 victory over Austin Anderson on Thursday.

Garrett Palacio, Carrollton Creekview QB

Palacio went 17-of-22 for 303 yards and a pair of passing TDs in a shutout win over Fort Worth South Hills.

Mason Shorb, Leander Rouse QB

Shorb completed 15 of 19 pass attempts for 245 yards and four touchdown throws and also ran for a score in Rouse’s 52-13 rout of Elgin on Friday.

Jake Wright, Houston St. Thomas QB

Wright was 13-of-16 passing for 373 yards and five touchdown passes, accounting for all of St. Thomas’ scores in a 35-0 district win over San Antonio Christian.

Lawson Nairn, Millsap QB

In Friday’s game against Eastland, Nairn went 24-of-40 for 425 yards with four passing TDs in a 48-27 loss.

Ryder Lambert, Stephenville QB

Lambert went 10-of-15 passing for 185 yards and four TDs to help Stephenville stay undefeated in a 35-7 win against La Vega. He also ran for 146 yards and a rushing touchdown on 12 carries.

Rylan Smart, Sanger QB

Smart threw for 428 yards and six touchdowns on 18-of-29 passing and added 82 yards on the ground in a 55-39 win over Vernon.

Glenn Rice Jr, Lancaster QB

Rice completed 16 of 17 pass attempts for 225 yards and three touchdown passes Lancaster’s 41-17 victory against Dallas Molina on Friday.

Jaidyn Brown, San Marcos RB

Brown rushed for 319 yards and five TDs on 21 in San Marcos’ 62-49 district win over Buda Hays.

Re’Shaun Sanford, Killeen Harker Heights RB

Sanford ran 17 times for 257 yards and set a school record with five rushing scores in a 57-21 win against Belton on Friday night.

Ben McCreary, San Antonio Johnson RB

In a 62-34 district victory against San Antonio Roosevelt, McCreary rushed 22 times for 336 yards and five touchdowns.

Rodney Talton Jr, Arlington RB

Talton rushed 38 times for 287 yards and two TDs and added a 28-yard reception in a 27-24 win over Arlington Sam Houston.

Ashton Jeanty, Frisco Lone Star RB

Jeanty rushed for 202 yards and four TDs on 13 carries and caught two passes for 62 yards and a pair of receiving scores in Lone Star’s 72-16 win against Denton.

Noah Long, Liberty Hill RB

Long set a new career high with 202 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in a 45-16 victory against Austin McCallum.

JB Brown, Northwest Eaton RB

Brown ran the ball 29 times for 224 yards and three touchdowns in Eaton’s 43-21 win over Keller.

Ramir McCray, Klein Cain RB

McCray ran 15 times for 152 yards and five TDs, tying Cain’s program record for rushing scores in a single game, in a 63-24 win against Klein Forest on Friday night.

Jaylen Jenkins, Allen RB

Jenkins carried the ball 12 times for 213 yards and four touchdowns in Allen’s 71-29 win over Little Elm.

Dalvin Blatts, Gregory-Portland RB

Terrell Washington Jr, Wylie East RB

Washington rushed 29 times for 207 yards and all three of his team’s touchdowns on the ground in Wylie East’s 28-21 loss to McKinney North.

McCoy-Gay tallied 208 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in a 41-12 rout of Hutto on Thursday night.

Ismail Mahdi, Plano East RB

Mahdi rushed 16 times for 201 yards and a touchdown in a 31-14 rivalry game victory over Plano West.

JD Ibarra, Brady RB

In a 54-41 victory to knock off reigning district champ Ballinger, Ibarra ran for 230 yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Richard Reese, Bellville RB

Reese carried the ball seven times for 123 yards and three rushing touchdowns in Bellville’s 72-0 win over Wharton.

Rueben Owens, El Campo RB

Owens toted the ball 16 times for 227 yards and four rushing TDs in El Campo’s 49-7 victory over Stafford.

Derrick Johnson, Lake Travis RB

Sanford ran for 157 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries in a 63-3 win against Austin High on Thursday.

Jalen Washington, Montgomery RB

Washington rushed for 110 yards and three TDs on 19 carries in a 38-13 win over previously undefeated Bryan Rudder.

Harold Perkins, Cypress Park RB

Perkins rushed 10 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns in Cy Park’s runaway 51-7 victory over Cypress Falls.

Brant Ahlfinger, Fort Worth All Saints RB

Ahlfinger ran for 267 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries in a 44-31 victory against Dallas Bishop Lynch in district play.

Jonathan Nelson, Cypress Bridgeland WR

Nelson ran for 97 yards and all four of Bridgeland’s touchdowns on 13 carries and tacked on 90 receiving yards on six receptions in a 38-28 loss to Cypress Ranch.

Josh Gomez, Edcouch-Elsa RB

Gomez rumbled for 306 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground on 32 carries in Edcouch-Elsa’s 42-21 win against Sharyland Pioneer.

Niles Harvey, Dallas St. Mark’s RB

Harvey rushed 14 times for 249 yards and five TDs on the ground in a 56-10 win over Houston Christian.

Ahmon Dozier, Royse City RB

Dozier toted the ball 15 times for 187 yards and four rushing TDs in Royse City’s 42-28 victory over Sulphur Springs.

Gordon rushed 22 times for 211 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-7 district win over North Crowley. He also threw for 77 yards and a score on 2-of-4 passing.

McMillan caught seven passes for 215 yards and three TDs in a dominant 52-7 win against Katy Taylor.

Brandon caught eight passes for 114 yards and a touchdown in a 17-0 win over Medina Valley.

Andersen recorded four receptions for 150 yards and three TDs in a 36-29 win against previously unbeaten Floresville.

Schmid tallied three catches for 137 yards and two TDs in a dominant 56-14 win over Uvalde.

Parker Livingstone, Lucas Lovejoy WR

Livingston caught 12 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in a 53-0 win against Frisco Memorial.

Armani Winfield, Lewisville WR

Winfield hauled in 11 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-24 victory over Flower Mound.

Tyler Bailey, Prosper WR

Bailey caught six passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in a 59-56 overtime loss to Little Elm.

Isaiah Crosby, Manor WR/DB

Crosby caught two passes for 45 yards and a pair of receiving TDs as well as a 103-yard interception return during a two-point conversion attempt in Manor’s 45-12 win against Pflugerville.

Chuck Hodge, Smithville WR/DB

Hodge tallied eight receptions for 211 yards and six receiving touchdowns in a 50-28 win over Navasota. He also forced and recovered a fumble defensively.

Landon Samson, Southlake Carroll WR

Samson caught nine passes for 127 yards and two TDs in a 63-7 win against Keller Central.

Ashton Cozart, Flower Mound Marcus WR

Cozart snagged four passes for 115 yards and two TDs in Marcus’ 39-37 overtime victory against Coppell.

Zaire Barrow, Arlington Martin WR

Barrow tallied three catches for 111 yards and two touchdown receptions in a shutout win against Arlington Lamar.

Hogan Wasson, Colleyville Heritage WR

Wasson caught eight passes for 139 yards and a touchdown in a 48-21 victory over Red Oak.

Sean Sallis, Carrollton Creekview TE

Sallis caught eight passes for 146 yards and two receiving TDs in Creekview’s 43-0 win over Fort Worth South Hills.

Caleb Magness, East Bernard WR

Magness accounted for 110 total yards on seven touches and caught three touchdown passes in a 42-6 win against Wallis Brazos.

Avery Ramirez, Carrizo Springs WR

Ramirez caught three passes for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 33-26 comeback victory over Devfine to help Carrizo Springs stay undefeated.

Noah Thomas, League City Clear Springs WR

Thomas hauled in eight receptions for 130 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-35 loss to League City Clear Falls.

Arbrie Carter, Jersey Village WR

Carter caught nine passes for 102 yards and two receiving TDs in a 39-30 victory against Cy-Fair to help Jersey Village remain unbeaten.

Terrill Curtis, Cypress Springs WR

Curtis hauled in six passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-20 victory over Cypress Lakes.

Randy Reece, South Oak Cliff WR

Reece had 10 catches for 153 yards and three TDs in a 55-0 win over Fort Worth Southwest.

Sam Sueltenfuss, Llano WR

Sueltenfuss caught all three of Llano’s touchdown passes and racked up 71 yards on three receptions in a 34-0 win against Comfort.

Tyler King, Alief Taylor WR

King caught 10 passes for 169 yards and two TDs in Taylor’s 40-23 loss to Pearland Dawson.

Jay Fair, Rockwall Heath WR

Fair hauled in six receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns in Heath’s 62-21 victory against North Mesquite.

Gracen Harris, Ennis WR

Harris caught seven passes for 159 yards and a score in a 42-13 win against North Forney.

Ray Perez, Sinton DB

Perez had six tackles and intercepted a pass in the end zone and ran it back 102 yards for a defensive touchdown as time expired in the first half of Sinton’s 61-6 win over Port Isabel.

Josiah Estes, Lake Travis DB

Estes scored on a 15-yard interception return for a defensive TD and also recovered a fumble in a 63-3 victory against Austin High.

Tyler Turner, San Antonio Brennan DB

Turner tallied 20 tackles, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery in Brennan’s 42-28 victory over previously unbeaten San Antonio Taft on Thursday night.

Enow Etta, Colleyville Covenant Christian DE

Etta recorded a season-high 17 tackles as well as five TFLs and three sacks in a 43-42 loss to Weatherford Christian.

Alan Gonzalez, Sharyland DB/RB

Gonzalez tallied six tackles, a TFL and a 55-yard interception return defensively in Sharyland’s 38-0 win against previously unbeaten Mercedes. Gonzalez also ran five times for 100 yards and a rushing score and caught three passes for 21 yards.

Deaubrey Hood, Killeen Harker Heights DB

Turner picked off two passes and recorded an interception return for a defensive TD and three pass deflections in a 57-21 victory over Belton.

Da’Marrion Medlock, Mart DB

Medlock racked up 19 tackles as well as a TFL, a blocked punt and a fumble recovery in a 56-6 win over Chilton.
