Jaxon Steinhauer, Earl Ingle help West Linn run past Bend in playoff opener

No. 2 West Linn 35, No. 31 Bend 13

The Lions (9-1) burst out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and defeated the visiting Lava Bears (3-7) at Pioneer Memorial Stadium in Oregon City.

Jaxon Steinhauer got the Three Rivers League co-champion Lions rolling with a 15-yard touchdown run, which was followed by a 49-yard scoring pass from Earl Ingle to Gus Donnerberg and a 12-yard touchdown run by Ingle for the 21-0 lead.

Ingle and Steinhauer added touchdown runs to account for West Linn’s final points. Those two players lead the Lions — who have had six players rush for touchdowns this season — with six touchdowns on the ground each.
