No. 2 Silverton 28, No. 4 West Albany 21: Alejandro Briseno, Vandon Fessler help Foxes fight off Bulldogs in Mid-Willamette showdown

No. 2 Silverton 28, No. 4 West Albany 21 

Alejandro Briseno rushed for two touchdowns, Vandon Fessler caught a 50-yard touchdown pass, and Keegan Walter bounced outside for a 63-yard insurance score in the fourth quarter to lead the Foxes (7-1, 6-0 Mid-Willamette Conference) over the visiting Bulldogs (7-1, 5-1). 

The Foxes locked up the conference’s No. 1 seed to the OSAA Class 5A playoffs. 

After Briseno’s first touchdown, the Bulldogs pulled even on quarterback Michael Cale’s one-yard run.  

The Foxes pulled ahead 21-7 on Jordan McCarty’s touchdown pass to Fessler and Briseno’s one-yard scoring run 22 seconds before halftime. 

After halftime, the Bulldogs got a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Jack Moyes, and Cale threw a touchdown pass to Tyler Hart-McNally to make it a seven-point game with 1:12 left.
