Dom Montiel: 368 passing yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs as 4A No. 1 Marshfield waltzes past Stayton

The Pirates (5-0) matched their season high in points and posted their first shutout of the season in defeating the Eagles (1-4) at Pete Susick Stadium in Coos Bay. 

A defense that received strong performances throughout the lineup held the Eagles to 103 yards. The Pirates allowed eight points or fewer for the fourth game in a row. 

Dom Montiel passed for 368 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions. Four of his touchdown passes were on plays of 48 yards or more. The Pirates’ offensive line kept Montiel upright, allowing no sacks. 

Miguel Velasquez carried seven times for 82 yards and two scores and caught a touchdown pass.  

DJ Daugherty had three touchdown receptions, and Maddux Mateski made two scoring catches.
