Photos: Thurston cruises past Willamette in Midwestern tilt

The Thurston Colts (2-0, 2-0 Midwestern League) of Springfield held the Willamette Wolverines (0-4, 0-3) of Eugene to three rushing yards Friday in a 46-0 home-field victory. 

Quarterbacks Alex Boring (two), Darien Witham (two) and Jake Wilson-Spear (one) each threw touchdown passes. Tight end Jacob Newell, who has committed to Nevada, caught 11 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, giving him five receiving touchdowns in two games. 

Griffen Bushnell led the Wolverines with seven catches for 80 yards. Quarterback Ryan Prescott was 9 of 20 for 125 yards.

Lombell Doreen rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown, and Grayson Starck had four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Kellen Humphries and Parker Saunders also caught touchdown passes. 

Saunders had two interceptions and Witham had another as part of a pass defense that allowed the Wolverines 120 yards through the air.
