North Salem 48, Roosevelt 28: Two touchdowns in the final four seconds of the first half launched the Vikings to the home win over the Roughriders of North Portland.
Josiah Davis scored one of his three touchdowns four seconds before the half. On the kickoff, Travis Frost forced a fumble and returned it for a score as the half ended, North Salem leading 22-8.
Vikings sophomore quarterback TC Manumaleuna II passed for 75 yards and a touchdown to Erick Gonzalez.
Roughriders quarterback Imarion Kelly scrambled 65 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown, breaking a couple of tackles in the pocket and making the rest of the defense miss.
Jackson Flatner and Dom McDonald-Barber caught scoring passes, and Roosevelt’s running game was led by Lindell Betts, playing his first game since suffering an injury in the spring season opener.
North Salem’s Jerrik Wangler had 19 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown and forced two fumbles on defense. Davis had 18 rushes for 90 yards and the three touchdowns as the Vikings amassed 396 yards on the ground.
