Sunset keeps momentum from spring, blasts Tigard in fall opener

Sunset 48, Tigard 6: Grady Newsom had three touchdown passes (two to Hayden Hurley, one to Aiden Timbo) in the first half as the Apollos of Northwest Portland took a 28-0 halftime lead and defeated the host Tigers for their seventh win in a row. 

Konner Grant returned the second-half kickoff 86 yards to make the score 28-6. 

Hurley, Caleb Kim and Luke Rogers had interceptions for the Apollos, whose offense was led by Kim (16 carries, 107 yards, three touchdowns), Newsom (17 of 27, 140 yards, one interception in addition to the three touchdowns) and Hurley (four catches, 60 yards, two touchdowns).
