Tanner Volk has 2 TDs as Aloha edges Southridge

Aloha 19, Southridge 14: Tanner Volk scored two touchdowns and had an interception, pacing the host Warriors (2-2) to the victory over the Skyhawks (1-3) of Beaverton.

Volk returned a punt 53 yards for a 7-0 lead with 5:12 left in the first quarter. The Warriors increased the lead to 13-0 on Logan Moore’s 24-yard run early in the second quarter.

After Cypress Albright scored the first of his two touchdowns for Southridge, Volk ran four yards for another touchdown and a 19-7 lead midway through the second.

Albright closed the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run with 2:32 left.

Southridge was unsuccessful on an onside kick but regained possession and mounted one final drive. The Skyhawks had a long gain negated by an illegal blocking penalty and then had a downfield pass intercepted by Volk to end their hopes.
