Rich Tran, Michael Scott lead Parkrose over Madison for 1st win under Brian Jackson

Parkrose 12, Madison 6: Parkrose built a 12-0 lead through three quarters and survived a late Madison rally to pick up coach Brian Jackson’s first career victory.

Rich Tran ran for a touchdown, and Michael Scott caught four passes for 152 yards and a score for the host Broncos (1-3).

“It feels good,” said Jackson, who returned to Parkrose last spring to take over for Keanon Lowe, for whom he was defensive coordinator in 2018. “We made a couple of mistakes, but I’m just glad that we got it. I knew if we came out and played as hard as we did last week, we’d come away with the win.”

The Senators (1-3) made him sweat out the victory until the last second. Marcus Holden connected with Moses Farmer on a 19-yard touchdown with 37 seconds left, then Leonardo Johnson recovered the ensuing onside kick to give the visitors one last shot.

Madison worked the ball to the Parkrose 13, but its final pass to the end zone overshot the mark, setting off a celebration on the Broncos sideline.
