Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Ohio high school athlete of the week for Oct. 4-9. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Beau Brungard, Springfield QB

Brungard threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 121 yards for another pair of touchdowns.

Jakorion Caffey, Avon RB

Caffey rushed for 165 yards and five touchdowns on 13 carries along with two catches for 40 yards and another touchdown.

Amanda Cooper, Westerville North cross country

The junior placed first overall at the Les Eisenhart Invitational with a time of 20:32.00 in the girls 11th and 12th grade 5,000 meters.

Drew Dillen, Louisville soccer

Dillen had a hat trick as Louisville shut out Massillon Washington 9-0.

T.J. Engleman, Princeton QB

Engleman went 10-for-13 for 115 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed 100 yards for two touchdowns on 18 carries.

Carson Gresock, Upper Arlington RB

Gresock rushed for 291 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries.

Amare Jenkins, Dublin Scioto QB

Jenkins went 13-for-18 for 230 yards and four touchdowns.

Dijon Jennings, Reynoldsburg QB

Jennings went 21-for-31 for 395 yards and five touchdowns.

Cameron Macon, Barberton RB/LB

Macon ran for 120 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. On defense, he recovered a fumble and took the ball 72 yards into the end zone.

Brice McDaniel, Liberty Benton golf

McDaniel shot a 74 at the Catawba Island Club to place as the top medalist and advance individually.

Meredith Riley, South Point tennis

Riley finished as the singles sectional champion, winning her first five matches and her final match 6-1 6-0.

Mason Rus, Kirtland RB

Rus rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Brooklyn Smith, Newark Catholic volleyball

The senior reached 1,000 career digs as the Green Wave beat Johnstown-Monroe 3-0.

Lamar Sperling, Archbishop Hoban RB

Sperling ran for 217 yards and four touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass.

EJ Taylor, Solon RB

The junior rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown on 29 attempts including a 31-yard TD run in the second quarter.
