Cathedral Prep (Pennsylvania) drives two hours to Benedictine (Cleveland) before lightning cancels the game

Lightning delays were taking place all over northern Ohio on Friday, with several games not starting until after 8 p.m.

But it got worse for Cathedral Prep, which traveled from Erie, Pennsylvania, to Cleveland to face Benedictine, only to have the game canceled, and it won’t be made up.

The game should have proved to be excellent preparation for 6-0 Benedictine, which has a tough final two games playing at Archbishop Hoban next week and at Nordonia to finish its regular season Oct. 22.
