The Iso podcast with Dan Dickau: Duke’s Nolan Smith on the importance of ‘running your own race’

Duke assistant coach Nolan Smith joined Thursday’s episode of The Iso podcast with Dan Dickau to talk about his path from Oak Hill, to Duke, to the NBA and now back to Duke climbing the ladder on coach Mike Krzyzewski’s staff.

Dickau and Smith were with the Portland Trail Blazers at the same time – Smith on a rookie deal and Dickau in a coaching role. Smith returned to Duke after consecutive knee injuries ended his playing career and after the 2020-21 college basketball season, Smith was promoted from director of basketball operations and player development to assistant coach.
