TOP STARS IN MISSISSIPPI HS FOOTBALL (SEPT. 23-25)

Fernando Atterberry, Meridian

Picked off one pass and returned a fumble for a touchdown in a 42-25 win over Northwest Rankin.

Kabe Barnett, Oak Grove

Completed 21 of 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown and ran for 39 yards and another score in a 37-20 win over Warren Central.

Carter Cockrell, Simpson Academy

Rushed 25 times for 85 yards and caught two passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-21 win over St. Joe (Madison).

Heaven Coleman, Kemper County DB

Coleman had two interceptions and three pass break-ups in Kemper County’s win over Southeast Lauderdale.

Trace Dearman, Tri-County Academy

Rushed 18 times for 184 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-0 win over Canton Academy.

Cade Dedeaux, Sumrall WR

Dedeaux had nine catches for 254 yards and three touchdowns in Sumrall’s 41-35 win over Newton County.

Marquis Fields, DeSoto Central

Rushed 25 times for 164 yards and a touchdown in a 28-7 win over Olive Branch.

John Ford, Sumrall QB

Ford threw for 402 yards and six touchdowns in Sumrall’s win over Newton County.

Immanuel Griffin, Ripley

Rushed 21 times for 193 yards and two touchdowns in a 21-9 win over Booneville.

Jeremiah Harrell, Tupelo

Completed 11 of 14 passes for 75 yards with three touchdowns and added 74 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs

Completed 19 of his 22 passes for 154 yards and one touchdown and rushed 17 times for 127 yards and two more scores in a 34-14 win over Hancock.

Reece Kentner, North Pontotoc

Completed 18 of 33 passes for 353 yards, rushed for 92 more and accounted for five total touchdowns in a 41-34 win over Nettleton.

Quay Middlebrooks, Tupelo

Rushed 15 times for 117 yards and a touchdown in a 35-6 win over Grenada.

Joe Moss, Grenada

\Rushed for 164 yards in a 35-6 loss to Tupelo.

Ryan Musselwhite, DeSoto Central

Caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score in a 28-7 win over Olive Branch.

Hastin Nelson, Baldwyn

Caught seven passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-2 win over Alcorn Central.

Dawson Phillips, Mooreville

Passed for 626 yards and nine touchdowns in a 70-58 win over Mantachie.

Trey Petty, Starkville

Rushed 18 times for 104 yards and three touchdowns and passed for two more scores in a 35-28 win over Madison Central.

Braedon Sauls, Mantachie

Rushed 29 times for 148 yards and five touchdowns and caught two passes for 21 yards in a 70-58 loss to Mooreville.

Aaron Steele, Kemper County QB

Steele went 8-for-11 for 75 yards and one touchdown, had 10 carries for 134 yards and two TDs and returned a kickoff 60 yards for a TD in Kemper County’s 47-7 win over Southeast Lauderdale. He also had an interception on defense.

Rodney Stuart, Baldwyn

Credited with 11 solo tackles, three assists and six tackles for a loss in a 34-2 win over Alcorn.

Jamari Thompson, Pearl

Rushed 21 times for 226 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-12 win over Petal.
