Clinton volleyball star Erin Wilson voted SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Clinton volleyball star Erin Wilson for being voted SBLive’s Mississippi High School Athlete of the Week for Sep. 27-Oct. 3!

The junior setter had 34 assists and 5 digs in a 3-2 win over St. Andrew’s on Sept. 30.

Wilson received 48.72% of the vote, beating out Jackson Academy’s Lakin Laurendine who finished second with 26.34%. Pearl’s Jamari Thompson finished third with 11.24% and Madison Central’s Robert Dumas finished fourth with 5.61%. There were over 26,000 votes tallied this week!

Lakin Laurendine, Jackson Academy volleyball: Laurendine had 23 digs and 22 kills in a 3-1 win over Brandon on Sept. 27.

Catherine Bianco, Oxford volleyball: Bianco had 23 assists, 11 digs and 7 kills in a 3-0 win over Lafayette on Sept. 28.

Nate Blount, Brandon: Rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-20 win over Warren Central.

Isaiah Boyd, Wayne County: Rushed 12 times for 249 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-14 win over Florence.

Ja’Kobe Cameron, St. Stanislaus: Caught one touchdown pass and returned an interception for a touchdown in a 42-0 win over St. Patrick.

Davis Dalton, MRA: Caught 14 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-20 win over Jackson Prep.

Dante Dowdell, Picayune: Rushed 15 times for 263 yards and four touchdowns in a 69-42 win over Vancleave.

Robert Dumas, Jr., Madison Central: Rushed 14 times for 142 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown, in a 35-0 win over Grenada.

Charleston French, Amory: Rushed 20 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-0 win over Aberdeen.

Roman Gregory, Oxford: Rushed 21 times for 103 yards and one touchdowns in a 22-6 win over Tupelo.

Bray Hubbard, Ocean Springs: Completed 12 of 16 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown and rushed 11 times for 58 yards and two scores in a 42-14 win over D’Iberville.

Daniel Hill, Meridian: Rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-14 loss to Pearl.

David Humphries, Ocean Springs: Rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-14 win over D’Iberville.

Trey Petty, Starkville: Tossed four touchdown passes in a 28-21 win over Clinton.

Emmanuel Randle, Tupelo Christian: Rushed 19 times for 223 yards and one touchdown and caught a 25-yard scoring pass in a 35-35 win over Biggersville.

Jay Reed, Lafayette: Rushed for three touchdowns in a 47-10 win over Saltillo.

D.J. Smith, Greenville Christian: Completed 22 of 32 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns and rushed 14 times for 66 yards in a 30-9 win over Jackson Academy.

Josh Sykes, Park Place Christian: Caught two touchdown passes and forced one fumble on defense that resulted in a touchback in a 50-14 loss to Simpson Academy.

Jamari Thompson, Pearl: Rushed 33 times for 268 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-27 win over Meridian.

John White, MRA: Completed 28 of 40 passes for 521 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-20 win over Jackson Prep.

Jamar Grace, Kemper County ATH: Grace had 5 catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns and picked off a pass on defense in Kemper County’s 32-21 win over Lake.

Aaron Steele, Kemper County QB: Steele went 9-of-16 for 245 yards and three TDs and rushed 22 times for 155 yards and a TD in Kemper County’s 33-21 win over Lake.

Jeremiah Ratliff, McComb WR: Ratliff had 5 catches for 130 yards and three TDs, including the game-winning TD catch with no time on the clock to lift McComb to a 20-15 win over South Pike.

Taurean Davis, DeSoto LB: Davis had 18 tackles and two tackles for loss in DeSoto’s 14-7 win over Horn Lake.
