What you need to know
There weren’t any grand upsets in the first round of the 3A playoffs, but there are some good teams that won’t be playing next week.
Senatobia was the only school with a bye in the first round, but they’ll have their work cut out with them with Kossuth in the second. All the other teams in the north swept.
South front-runners Magee, St. Andrew’s and West Marion all handled business, sweeping their two-game series.
Seminary beat Southeast Lauderdale Thursday night, but the Tigers came back and won game two 11-3 Friday night and took game three 5-4 Saturday to clinch that series.
