Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Mississippi high school baseball player of the week for April 19-25 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday at 11:59 p.m and the winner will be announced Monday. BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES FOR APRIL 19-25:

Matthew Azordegan, St. Andrew’s: Worked 6.2 innings to pick up a win against Magee, allowing one run on two hits and five walks with 15 strikeouts. He also drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.

Kade Carpenter, Vancleave: Went 9-for-13 at the plate with a triple, three home runs, eight RBIs and 11 runs scored. Also pitched one inning in relief, striking out all three batters he faced.

John Carter Kennedy, Enterprise: Threw a complete game shutout against Puckett, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out 12 batters.

Jackson McCoy, Booneville: Threw a complete game shutout against Corinth, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out 12 batters. Also went 2-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs and two walks.

Brayden Sanders, Lewisburg: Went 4-for-8 at the plate over three games with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. He also pitched a complete game to pick up a win over No. 2 Oxford, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.

Gatlin Sanders, Madison Central: Went 3-for-5 over two games at the plate with a double, two walks, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Jacob Snell, Gulfport: Went 3-for-5 at the plate over three games with a home run, five walks, a stolen base, four RBIs and four runs scored.

Brock Tapper, DeSoto Central: Went 9-for-17 at the plate over four games with a double, seven RBIs and five runs scored. Also pitched five innings to pick up the win against South Panola, allowing one unearned run on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
