1. Starkville (2-0) beat Louisville 24-14

The Yellow Jackets struggled to get going, falling behind 14-10 at halftime, before rallying to beat Louisville.

2. Oak Grove (2-0) beat Hattiesburg 66-27

QB Kabe Barnett and Oak Grove poured it on, jumping out to a 45-7 halftime lead and cruising to victory. — GAME RECAP

3. South Panola (2-0) beat Meridian 42-14

After scratching out a 14-13 win last week, QB Anterrio Draper and the Tigers left no doubt vs. Meridian.

4. West Jones (2-0) beat Wayne County 18-2

The Mustangs used a goal-line stand late in the third period to propel them to the win in the 28th meeting of these powerhouse Class 5A rivals. — GAME STORY

5. West Point (1-1) beat Tupelo 24-14

West Point jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead and held off the Golden Wave.

6. Madison Central (2-0) beat Pearl 35-7

QB Tate Collins did just enough with his arm, completing 11 of 18 passes for 80 yards with the two touchdowns, but he put on a show with his legs, rushing 12 times for 141 yards and two scores. — GAME STORY

7. Picayune (2-0) beat Gulfport 41-34

Picayune built an early 27-6 lead and held off a furious second-half rally from Gulfport.

8. Neshoba Central (2-0) beat West Lauderdale 49-14

9. Clinton (1-1) lost to Northwest Rankin 28-21

Cam Marion sealed the Cougars’ upset with a 6-yard TD run with 8:14 to play.

10. D’Iberville (2-0) beat Poplarville 21-14

The Warriors pulled out the victory late, now they turn their attention to George County.
