Whittier girls cross country star Noel Tripp voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Whittier girls cross country star Noel Tripp for being voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-14!

The sophomore became Whittier’s first female cross country runner to ever qualify for the Massachusetts All-State meet with a qualifying time of 21:09 at Gardners cross country course.

Tripp received 53.5% of the vote, beating out Hopkinton boys soccer’s Aryan Shah, who finished with 45.01%

Elsiana Aires, Westborough Girls Soccer

Aires had two goals in 3-0 win over Westwood in the Division 2 girls soccer state quarterfinals on Saturday. The Rangers will now advance to first state semifinals appearance in eight years.

Kaitlyn Carney, Franklin Field Hockey

Carney had 2 goals in Panthers’ 4-1 win over Winchester, and will advance to the D1 Final Four for first semifinals appearance in program history.

Aryan Shah, Hopkinton Boys Soccer

The senior sealed the Hiller’s 3-1 upset victory over Holliston with a goal off of a free kick.

Ryan Algieri, Burncoat RB

Algieri rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns in Burncoat’s 31-12 win over Worcester North.

Cameron Ayotte, Millbury

Ayotte passed for two touchdowns and ran for another TD in Millbury’s 28-12 win over Millville-Hopedale.

Miguel Borges, Marlborough RB

Borges carried the ball 20 times for 108 yards and a touchdown in Marlborough’s 26-7 win over Leominster.

David Brown, St. Mary’s RB

Brown rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns to lead St. Mary’s to a 42-14 win over Medway in the Division 6 quarterfinals.

Cadence Chace, Fairhaven

Chace ran for three touchdowns to lead Fairhaven to a 28-21 win over Apponequet.

Tyler Dimond, Grafton QB

Dimond rushed for two touchdowns and passed for a third to lead Grafton to a 35-13 win over Bedford in the Division 4 quarterfinals.

Chase Dwight, Pentucket QB

Dwight rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead Pentucket to a 21-14 win over Old Rochester in the Division 5 quarterfinals.

Matt Festa, Duxbury QB

Festa scored three touchdowns on the ground and threw a TD pass to lead Duxbury to a 39-14 win over Danvers in the Division 4 quarterfinals.

Danny Fleming, Tewksbury QB

Fleming rushed for 222 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 93 yards and a TD to lead Tewksbury to a 35-30 win over Wayland.

Max Hannagan, Littleton RB

Hannagan rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown in Littleton’s 25-14 win over Ayer-Shirley.

Owen Keenan, Assabet

Keenan ran for two touchdowns and picked off a pass on defense to lead Assabet to a 28-22 win over Bay Path in the Vocational Large School quarterfinals.

Will Kelly, Dartmouth RB

Kelly rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns to lead Dartmouth to a 26-8 win over Plymouth North.

Angelo LaRose, South RB

LaRose rushed for 444 yards and six touchdowns to lead South to a 40-18 win over Worcester Tech.

Jaden Morales, Oxford RB

Morales carried the ball 13 times for 183 yards in Oxford’s 16-13 win over Palmer in the Division 8 quarterfinals.

Justice McGrail, Central Catholic WR

McGrail caught two touchdown passes in Central Catholic’s 37-13 win over St. John’s in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

Cody Shearer, Littleton

Shearer ran for a touchdown, kicked a field goal, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble in Littleton’s 25-14 win over Ayer-Shirley.

Calvin Tenney, Murdock RB

Tenney rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns in Murdock’s 30-6 win over Keefe Tech.

Steven Woods, Bishop Fenwick QB

Woods threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns to lead Bishop Fenwick to a 42-13 win over Hudson.
