Scituate RB Andrew Bossey voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Scituate running back Andrew Bossey for being voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week for Sep. 27-Oct. 3!

The senior carried the ball 20 times for 195 yards and two touchdowns to lead Scituate to a 35-0 win over Pembroke.

Bossey received 45.38% of the vote, beating out Tewksbury RB Danny Fleming who finished second with 42.47%. Plymouth South RB Casious Johnson finished third with 11.45% and St. John’s RB Bobby Rodolakis finished fourth with 0.14%

Couitt scored three goals in Seekonk’s 6-2 win over New Bedford Voc. on Sept. 29.

Cathryn Leighton, Hopkington volleyball

Leighton had 34 assists, 5 kills and 4 digs in a 3-0 win over Algonquin Regional on Sept. 29.

Jared Arone, Franklin QB

Arone threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns to lead Franklin to a 28-10 win over Mansfield.

Jake Attaway, Hudson QB

Attaway threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns to lead Hudson to a 20-13 win over Maynard.

Marcus Bass, Hudson WR

Bass caught nine passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in Hudson’s win over Maynard.

Jacob Briggs, Middleboro QB

Briggs rushed for two touchdowns and threw a TD pass to lead Middleboro to a 42-0 win over East Bridgewater.

Jack Finnegan, Milton kicker

Finnegan booted a field goal at the buzzer to lift Milton to a 10-7 win over Walpole.

Danny Fleming, Tewksbury RB

Fleming scored four touchdowns to lead Tewksbury to a 37-29 win over North Andover.

Mario Franciosa-Johnson, Braintree RB

Franciosa-Johnson carried the ball seven times for 160 yards and two touchdowns to lead Braintree to a 34-21 win over Holliston.

Nick Freel, Hanover RB

Freel caught four passes for 103 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 45 yards and two more TDs in Hanover’s loss to Plymouth South.

Anthony Girolamo, Stoughton RB

Girolamo carried the ball 12 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns to lead Stoughton to a 35-7 win over Oliver Ames.

Brian Holmes, Ayer-Shirley RB

Holmes carried the ball 10 times for 125 yards and four touchdowns to lead Ayer-Shirley to a 30-24 win over Gardner.

Nakado Jinius, Blue Hills 

Jinius scored a touchdown and had four sacks in Blue Hills’ 38-7 win over Diman.

Casious Johnson, Plymouth South RB

Johnson carried the ball 40 times for 340 yards and six touchdowns, including the game-winning TD in Plymouth South’s 42-35 win over Hanover.

Damien Jones, Bedford RB

Jones carried the ball 19 times for 165 yards and a touchdown in Bedford’s 34-12 win over St. Bernard’s.

Owen Keenan, Assabet RB

Keenan carried the ball nine times for 139 yards and three touchdowns to lead Assabet to a 35-18 win over Abby Kelley.

Angelo LaRose, South RB

LaRose ran for 413 yards and seven touchdowns to lead South to a 50-36 win over Auburn.

Eric Mann, Blue Hills RB

Mann carried the ball 12 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns to lead Blue Hills to a 38-7 win over Diman.

Charles Manu Jr., Worcester Tech

Manu Jr. returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in Worcester Tech’s loss to Valley Tech.

Dylan Pierce, Hingham QB

Pierce passed for four touchdowns to lead Hingham to a 35-0 win over Whitman-Hanson.

David Quinlan, Hanover WR

Quinlan had six catches for 155 yards and a touchdown and added six tackles and two tackles-for-loss on defense in Hanover’s loss to Plymouth South.

Bobby Rodolakis, St. John’s RB

Rodolakis carried the ball 17 times for 157 yards and four touchdowns to lead St. John’s to a 38-7 win over Malden Catholic.
