How the SBLive Power 10 Idaho high school football teams fared in Week 7: Top-ranked Rigby gets tested by Blackfoot; showdown with rested Highland next week

Each week, SBLive will rank the top 10 teams across the state of Idaho regardless of classification. Here’s a look at how those teams fared in games played in Week 7 of the high school football season. 


1. RIGBY 7-0 (5A) beats Blackfoot, 24-13

One-score game until Trojans kick much-needed field goal with three minutes remaining to keep unbeaten record intact.

2. MOUNTAIN VIEW 7-0 (5A) beats Capital, 24-6

Mavericks take advantage of a roughing-the-punter penalty on the Eagles by kicking field goal, and pushing lead to 17-6 in final quarter.

3. ROCKY MOUNTAIN 6-1 (5A) beats Timberline, 30-16

Big momentum shift for Grizzlies whenTeagan Hugh hauls in 40-yard touchdown with seven seconds to go in first half to tie game at 16-all.

4. COUER D’ALENE 5-1 (5A) beats Lake City, 38-0

Dominant Vikings’ performance capped by interception to preserve first season of multiple shutout victories since 2015.

5. HIGHLAND 6-1 (5A) on bye week

After playing for seven consecutive weekends, Rams finally get break – and get set to take on top-ranked Rigby for league title.

6. EAGLE 5-2 (5A) beats Skyview, 51-14

When Mustangs offense hits high gear, tough to stop. Scores two touchdowns in final three minutes of first half to pull away.

7. MERIDIAN 5-2 (5A) beats Boise, 48-7

QB Malakai Martinez (three TD passes) rounding into late-season form – and RB Kross Antonnacchi (164 yards, two TDs) already there.

8. HOMEDALE 7-0 (3A) beats Payette, 48-0

Another game, another big rushing performance by Hayden Kincheloe (343 yards, four TDs) as No. 1 team in 3A wins big.

9. MINICO 7-0 (4A) beats Jerome, 30-7

10. WEST SIDE 6-0 (2A) on bye week

Pirates get an extra week to prepare for 2A South East Idaho Conference showdown at Aberdeen next Friday.
