How the SBLive Power 10 Idaho high school football teams fared in Week 5: Top-ranked Rigby collects 19th regular-season victory in a row

Each week, SBLive will rank the top 10 teams across the state of Idaho regardless of classification. Here’s a look at how those teams fared in games played in Week 5 of the high school football season.

HOW THE TOP 10 FARED — SEPT. 24

1. RIGBY, 5-0 (5A) beats Thunder Ridge, 51-12

Just went you put too much focus on stopping recent Weber State commit Tiger Adolpho – RB Zheik Falevai has big night on the ground with three touchdowns.

2. MOUNTAIN VIEW, 5-0 (5A) beats Owyhee, 56-0

Four different players (Quintez Evans, Dallas Slocum, Grayson Flatten, Sosaia Raass) score first-quarter touchdowns, and Mavericks leave no doubt.

3. ROCKY MOUNTAIN, 4-1 (5A) beats Skyview, 49-21

Grizzlies opt for a little razzle-dazzle – an onside kick – to set up QB Tegan Sweaney’s second TD pass as 5A champions lead 20-0 after eight minutes.

4. COUER D’ALENE, 2-1 (5A) hosts Skyview (Wash.) on Saturday

Vikings continue slate of next-state-over games against Washington opponents – this time playing Vancouver-based and 4A GSHL-contending Storm.

5. HIGHLAND, 5-1 (5A) beats Madison, 42-16

And you thought Ian Hershey was just a kicker/punter. His 23-yard run off a fake punt sets up Rams’ decisive score (Jack Whitmer TD run) in third quarter.

6. MERIDIAN, 3-2 (5A) loses to No. 7 Eagle, 24-23

For three quarters, Warriors dominated game in QB Malakai Martinez’s return to the starting lineup, but 5A’s top defense cannot hold big lead.

7. EAGLE, 3-2 (5A) beats No. 6 Meridian, 24-23

This comeback will be talked about for a while as Mustangs go 80 yards in final four minutes to complete rally from 23-3 fourth-quarter deficit.

8. HOMEDALE, 5-0 (3A) beats McCall-Donnelly, 48-7

RB Hayden Kincheloe (273 rushing yards, three TDs) has another big game, and senior CB Eli Heck returns an interception for a score in road victory.

9. MINICO, 5-0 (4A) beats Burley, 30-15

If 4A’s top-ranked team was somehow overlooking the Bobcats – it trailed 8-0 in first two minutes, then reeled off next 30 points for best start since 2018.

10. LEWISTON, 4-1 (5A) loses to Sandpoint, 42-41 in OT

Bengals missed 35-yard field goal to win it with two seconds remaining in regulation – and lose in overtime when Bulldogs convert two-point conversion.
