SBLive Idaho is previewing the top football teams and players in the state ahead of the 2021 high school football season.

Here are SBLive’s Class 4A preseason Top 10 high school football rankings for 2021. The rankings were compiled by SBLive Idaho correspondent Brandon Walton.

2020 record: 7-2

Arguably, no team will have more depth than the 4A SIC favorites, who will have almost 90 juniors and seniors alone.

2020 record: 12-1

The reigning state champs lost a lot with no skill position players returning, but three state titles in five years don’t lie.

2020 record: 5-5

The loaded Bulldogs bring back 10 starters, including five all-4A Inland Empire performers from last year’s semifinal run.

2020 record: 8-2

The transition to the spread offense under Jerrod Ackley had its struggles in 2020 – but watch how the engine revs up in Year 2.

2020 record: 6-3

4A Great Basin favorites snapped string of seven losing seasons in a row to make playoffs last fall – and have 10 starters returning.

2020 record: 10-3

Is Cinderella dead? Huskies think as young group matures, all-state QB Caden Young could lead another late-season charge.

2020 record: 6-4

Time is running out on longtime coach Bill Brock to get that elusive state title with Vikings, but team is always a factor come November.

2020 record: 6-3

Top rusher Daniel Carrillo is back, and Bulldogs know how to win meaningful games with three consecutive quarterfinal trips.

2020 record: 7-4

Surprise 2020 semifinalists lost their coach (Travis Hobson), but they still have Romriell-to-Fleischmann passing combo.

2020 record: 4-6

New coaching hire likely signals shift to more wide-open offensive attack, which should be good news for RB Tre Kofe.
