The senior pitched a complete game and collected three hits and an RBI at the plate to lead Snake River to a 9-4 win over Filer in a 3A state tournament play-in game.
Brooks received 44.44% of the vote, beating out Bonneville’s RJ Woods, who finished with 33.33%. Columbia’s Mario DeLeon and Pocatello’s Hunter Killian tied for third with 11.11%.

Mario DeLeon, Columbia: DeLeon pitched a complete-game three-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead Columbia to a 9-1 win over Hillcrest in a state play-in game. DeLeon also went 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs.
Jack Johnson, Genesee: Johnson belted two doubles, including the game-winning, walk-off three-run double in the fifth inning to give Genesee a 12-2 win over Kamiah in the 1A district championship game.
Hunter Killian, Pocatello: Killian pitched a complete-game five-hitter and added an RBI double at the plate to lead Pocatello to a 4-3 win over Preston. The win clinched a state tournament berth for the Indians.
Tyler Pope, Weiser: Pope went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base to lead Weiser to a 12-5 win over Timberlake in a 3A state play-in game.
Zac Rackham, Kuna: Rackham threw a complete-game four-hitter to lead Kuna to a 7-1 win over Lake City and a berth in the state tournament.
Spencer Warner, Eagle: Warner threw a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Eagle to an 11-1 win over Borah and a berth in the 5A state tournament.
RJ Woods, Bonneville: Woods went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Bonneville to a 4-1 win over HIllcrest.
