THIS WEEK’S WAFD BANK SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Taryn Barney, Lewiston: Barney went 7-for-7 with seven RBI in Lewiston’s doubleheader sweep of Timberlake.

Riley Dorius, Malad: Dorius picked up the win on the mound and added a double at the plate in Malad’s 14-4 win over Marsh Valley.

Aramy Glaser, Century: Glaser struck out 14 in a complete-game victory, and added two hits at the plate in Century’s 8-5 win over Marsh Valley.

Emma Howard, Timberlake: Howard hit three home runs to lead Timberlake to a doubleheader sweep of Orofino.

Marissa Mauger, Highland: Maugher picked up the win on the mound – allowing just three hits in a complete game – and hit a home run at the plate in a 9-2 win over Canyon Ridge.

Megan Meracle, Borah: Meracle struck out 20 and allowed just one hit in an 8-1 win over Vallivue.

Staci Mitchell, St. Maries: Mitchell went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in St. Maries’ 19-0 win over Bonners Ferry.

Phoebe Schultze, Lake City: Schultze threw a no-hitter, striking out 14, and added two hits and four RBI at the plate in an 18-0 win over Sandpoint.

Madi Vansickle, Highland: Vansickle threw three scoreless innings and went 4-for-5 at the plate with four RBI to lead Highland to an 8-0 win over Canyon Ridge.

Taci Watkins, St. Maries: Watkins threw a complete-game one-hitter, striking out 14, in a 19-0 win over Bonner’s Ferry.
