Each week, SBLive ranks the top 10 teams across the state of Idaho regardless of classification. Here’s a look at how those teams – the SBLive Power 10 – fared in games played in Week 8 of the high school football season. 

HOW THE TOP 10 FARED — OCT. 16

1. COEUR D’ALENE, 6-0 (5A) beat Lake City, 64-34

CdA quarterback Jack Prka threw five touchdown passes and ran in two more to keep the Vikings rolling.

2. ROCKY MOUNTAIN, 5-0 (5A) beat No. 10 Meridian, 31-14

After shaking off some bye week rust in the first half, the Grizzlies pulled away by a turnover-happy defense and two second half touchdowns by Max Lehman to extend its league win streak to 14. (READ MORE)

3. HIGHLAND, 6-2 (5A) lost to No. 4 Rigby, 28-20

Fell victim to a second half rally capped by an onside kick in a marquee 3-4 matchup. (READ MORE)

4. RIGBY, 7-0 (5A) beat No. 3 Highland, 28-20

Looked every bit the part of a state contender in a season-defining win. (READ MORE)

5. EAGLE, 4-1 (5A) beat Centennial, 56-0

No rust for Eagle coming off of a bye week. Ben Ford and company came ready to play.

6. SUGAR-SALEM, 6-1 (3A) lost to South Fremont, 27-21

Kaimen Peebles was special all night, especially the game-winning drive that ended the defending 3A state champ’s 14-game win streak. (READ MORE)

7. CAPITAL, 4-0 (5A) beat Borah, 22-18

Hung on to beat Borah entering the 5A SIC crossover.

8. SKYLINE, 7-1 (4A) beat Hillcrest, 33-15

Held off Hillcrest to clinch a conference title, own top spot in 4A District 6 standings.

9. BISHOP KELLY, 5-1 (4A) beat Vallivue, 35-12

Beat Vallivue for the 11th straight year to remain in the thick of 4A SIC title hunt. (READ MORE)

10. MERIDIAN, 3-2 (5A) lost to No. 2 Rocky Mountain, 31-14

Pulled within three at halftime and kept he game close and compelling, but Rocky Mountain pulled away in the fourth. (READ MORE)
