For 2 1/2 quarters, the seventh-ranked Post Falls Trojans were running in mud.
But then they finally found their footing – and it was good enough to spark a big comeback.
Jaxon Anderson tossed two second-half touchdown passes, and junior cornerback Zach Clark picked off Lake City quarterback Chris Irvin three times, including one for a score as the host Trojans rallied for a 34-13 victory Saturday.
Midway through the third quarter, the visiting Timberwolves held a 13-0 lead, which they built in the first half. But Anderson’s 36-yard touchdown strike to Tommy Hauser got the Trojans on the board with 5 1/2 minutes to go in the quarter.
And 90 seconds later, Clark was off to the races on a 22-yard interception return for a score – and Post Falls never trailed again. It was the Trojans’ fifth consecutive victory in the series.
