5. MOUNTAIN VIEW, 0-0 (5A) on bye week

Mavericks, too, would like to start season Friday – and get QB Jake Farris going early.

6. BISHOP KELLY, 0-0 (4A) on bye week

Will be interesting to see what facet new QB Keegan Crouteau impacts more – run or pass.

7. EAGLE, 0-0 (5A) on bye week

There will be a huge collective exhale when exciting dual-threat QB Ben Ford is back.

Up next: Friday vs. Kuna, 7 p.m.

8. BLACKFOOT, 1-0 (4A) beat Thunder Ridge, 40-21

All-state RB Teegan Thomas’ first carry of 2020 was a touchdown. Monster season ahead?

Up next: Friday vs. Idaho Falls, 7 p.m.

9. SUGAR-SALEM, 1-0 (3A) beat Century, 13-7 in OT

Appears offseason move of FS Brigham Lee moving back from linebacker paying off.

10. CAPITAL, 0-0 (5A) on bye week

Eagles have not even held preseason training camp yet (COVID-19), but that could change.
