SBLive Power 10: How the top-ranked teams in Idaho high school football fared in Week 1

This week, SBLive ranked the top 10 teams across the state of Idaho regardless of classifications. Here’s a look at how those teams β€” the SBLive Power 10 β€” fared in games played on Aug. 28.


1. Coeur d’Alene (5A)

Idle. Opens the season hosting Sandpoint on Sept. 4.

2. Rocky Mountain (5A)

Idle. Opens the season at No. 5 Mountain View on Sept. 4.

3. Highland (5A) (0-1)

Blown out by Sky View (Utah) at home on Saturday evening, 45-0, in the school’s worst lost in more than 50 years and first shutout in 38 years.

4. Rigby (5A) (1-0)

Defeated Box Elder (Utah) 51-0 on Saturday in the Rocky Mountain Rumble in Rexburg.

5. Mountain View (5A)

Idle. Opens the season hosting No. 4 Rocky Mountain on Sept. 4.

6. Bishop Kelly (4A)

Idle. Opens the season on the road at Homedale on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.

7. Eagle (5A)

Idle. Opens the season hosting No. 8 Kuna on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m.

8. Kuna (5A) (0-1)

The defending 4A state champions lost to Lewiston (5A), 37-30, in its home opener. (READ MORE | PHOTOS)

9. Blackfoot (4A) (1-0)

The 4A state runners-up defeated Thunder Ridge on the road, 40-21. New head coach Jerrod Ackley, who was hired in April after longtime coach Stan Buck retired, starts his tenure 1-0. (WATCH MOREvia KIDK News)

10. Sugar-Salem (3A) (1-0)

The defending 3A state champions beat Century (4A) in overtime, 13-7, the go-ahead touchdown scored by senior running back Daxtyn Zollinger on a seven-yard run. Century fumbled to seal the deal. β€œMan, what a great win to start the season,” Sugar-Salem coach Tyler Richins told SBLive Idaho Friday night. (READ MORE)
