Marietta finishes a topsy-turvy season on a high note with rout of Walton (photos)

Marietta has had an up-and-down year, but the Blue Devils ended their regular season with a positively charged exclamation point, beating rival Walton 42-14 on the road Friday night.

Quarterback Tyler Hughes threw six touchdown passes to continue his impressive season, as Marietta earned the No. 2 spot in the region and a home game in the first round of the playoffs against Tift County.

Marietta finished the regular season 6-4 (3-2), while Walton heads into the playoffs 6-3 (3-2) and will face Colquitt County on the road.
