Are you passionate about sports and technology?

SBLive Sports is seeking freelancer writers/reporters to cover high school sports around the country.

This is an online-based job with a focus on producing quality digital journalism, which includes writing/creating content, providing readers with live updates from major high school sporting events and using a variety of multimedia tools to tell the stories of hundreds of teams and athletes.

The ideal candidate for this position: Has an interest in and a basic understanding of each of the sanctioned high school sports (football, volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, swimming, wrestling, baseball, softball, tennis, golf, gymnastics, track and field).

Requirements

• Enjoys the art of storytelling and is willing to do so regularly in both the traditional (written articles) and nontraditional (slideshows, photo essays, videos) ways
• Embraces the use of social media and its various and ever-changing platforms as a way to reach, grow and interact with our audience
• Has a steadfast commitment to accuracy, a keen eye for detail, and experience working on deadlines
• Will work to make connections and build trusted sources throughout the local high school sports community
• Possesses a general knowledge of the state’s geography and has a rough idea of where most of the major high schools are located and at which levels they compete
